“He Will Join Chelsea” Agent Confirms Arsenal Target Is Off To Chelsea

Baba Rahman’s advisor and confidante Edwin Kurt Okraku has claimed the young left-back is keen to join Chelsea and wants the deal done as soon possible, writes Sport Witness. The 21-year old defender is expected to move to Stamford Bridge to replace Filipe Luis who returned back to Atletico Madrid recently.

Baba’s move to Chelsea has appeared a matter of “when” and not “if”, with his agent Sascha Empasher  recently claiming the Augsburg left-back has agreed personal terms with the Blues and only the clubs need to settle on a transfer fee for the move to become a reality.

Adding to and backing Empasher’s claim is Jose Mourinho’s confirmation – in his press conference of yesterday ahead of today’s match against Swansea –  that a left back was incoming.

“We need a left-back, the board knows that and my feeling is that we are going to have one,” said Jose.

With the Blues still to reach an agreement with Augsburg over a transfer fee, Baba is, as per SB nation, set to feature for Augsburg against Third Division side Elversberg for the German cup first round, and the Ghanaian is not happy about this.

Okraku – described by German publication Bild as Baba’s advisor and not his agent – said the situation (that Chelsea and Augsburg have not agreed on a transfer fee) is becoming a burden to Baba.

“The clubs are still negotiating,” said Okraku.

“Baba wants to join Chelsea, that’s clear. The situation is burdening him.”

The only thing blocking this move is definitely the transfer fee, with Augsburg already signalling that they are resigned to losing Baba by bringing in a replacement already in the form of Phillip Max. According to reports, last season Bundesliga surprise package are holding out for €25m and, considering the Blues really need him they might be forced to to cough up the fee.

Chelsea were also linked to Galatasaray’s Alex Telles as an alternative for Baba if the move fails to materialise. But with the Telles to Chelsea rumours has simmering down, it seems Baba Rahman will be Chelsea’s new left-footed left-back.
