Higuain transfer update: Chelsea are lining up £42m bid to seal Conte’s 1st signing

Chelsea are said to be lining up a £42 million deal to snatch Argentine Striker, Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli in the summer according to widespread reports. The west London club looks set to be one of the busiest clubs when the summer transfer window opens as they hope to revive the club under new manager Antonio Conte after a dismal defense of their Premier League title, a season where they have failed to qualify for any European competition for next season.

The former Real Madrid marksman has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with links to Arsenal and Manchester United in recent times.

Now, report surfacing suggests that Chelsea are set to begin their revolution by splashing out the cash to bring the Argentine who has been in great form for Napoli in the Serie A to West London and make him Antonio Conte’s first signing at the club.

The move is said to have been sanctioned by the new boss, but Higuian is not prepared to join as the number 2 striker and wants assurances that he will get the nod ahead of current first choice Diego Costa.
There is ongoing interest from China for Diego Costa at the moment and remains to be seen whether Chelsea would be willing to let Diego Costa leave in order to make room for the arrival of the Argentine hitman.
