“‘I Want To Go To Arsenal'” Benzema To Arsenal Rumour Takes Another Twist

Arsenal continue to be strongly linked with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and are readying a last minute offer to land the 28-year old from the Bernabeu, according to reports.

Benzema is a long term target for Arsene Wenger and the French manager reportedly came close to signing him last summer. However, the Gunners’ interest in the France international this summer seems more intense with two bid already rejected by Los Blancos – the second reported to be around £40m, although Sky Sports said Wenger categorically refuted claims of any bid for his compatriot.

The back to back FA Cup and Community Shield winners are known for making deadline day signings as evident in Nacho Monreal, Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck’s switch to the Emirates in recent summer windows.

The former Lyon hitman – famed for his potency is front of goal – has, over the course of six years, performed a difficult feat of leading Los Blancos’ attack and as such he will be a great addition to the Arsenal team blessed with a plethora of creative attackers.

Despite Rafael Benitez claims that he wants to keep Benzema and that he would not be leaving this summer, the forward is still likely to make a switch to Arsenal.

According to Spanish football expert Graham Hunter per talkSPORT, Arsenal can sign Benzema if the Frenchman tells Real he wants to join the north Londoners.

“It is a doable deal, but it won’t happen unless Benzema says to Madrid: ‘I want to go to Arsenal’.”

Arsenal will face their season opener against West ham United with full confidence, following their recent Community Shield victory over Premier League champions and bitter rivals, Chelsea.
