“I Want to Write a New Story” – Deal Done for Brazilian Striker Who Rejected Liverpool & Will Earn €50,000-per-week, Not Teixeira

Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato, according to reports. ESPN Brazil earlier reported that player’s agent is already in London to sort a deal with Chelsea, and an agreement between all the parties is imminent.

The Telegraph also have weigh-in on the situation, and they also claim that the Premier League champions have already had discussions with Pato’s agent.

Blues manager Guus Hiddink has already stated a need for the striker at Stamford Bridge this month. Club’s enquiries for Carlos Bacca and Jamie Vardy have already been rejected by the respective clubs of the strikers, and now the Blues have turned their attention to the Brazilian.

Pato’s current club Corinthians value their player at £10m, but the Blues are expected to push for an initial loan deal with an option for a permanent deal.

The 26-year old stands to earn $2.5 million annually at the West London club.

The player will also be eligible to represent the Blues in the Champions League campaign as he is not tied to any club. The Brazilian was considered as one of the world’s best strikers before injuries disrupted his career.

He seemed to have re-found his form during his loan spell at Sao Paulo where he scored 26 goals in 59 appearances during the 2014-15 season.

He has previously expressed his desire to play in England. Speaking to Telegraph Sport last month, he said: “I would like to come to England because I think the championship [the Premier League] is the No1 in the world.
“I want to write a new story in Europe, to make a new history. I want to come to win the championship and play again in the Champions League. I have dreams again. I want to create this new story, a good new story.”

Premier League club Liverpool were also interested in the player, but latest reports suggest he will be moving to Stamford Bridge.
