“I will Play For Chelsea Next Season” Confirms Europa League Winning Defender
20 year old Chelsea midfielder Nathan Ake who is on loan to Watford has revealed his desire to be part of the Chelsea squad next season. Nathan Ake joined the Blues from Feyenoord in the summer of 2011, having impressed at the U-17 world cup. The 20 year old had a short stint last season at Reading playing just 5 games. The Netherlands U-21 International has found himself around the first team set-up quite on a number of occasions and has maintained optimism about his chances of playing for Chelsea.
He said “I spoke to the manager (Jose Mourinho) a little bit and he said I can stay and be around the team,” he told the Watford Observer. “I told him I want to be playing a lot this season. He understood that.“We have a good relationship. Hopefully, I can show him that next year I can come back and play for Chelsea.”
Nathan Ake has made just 12 appearances for Chelsea since his arrival from Feyenoord in 2011 and made only one league appearance last season in the 3-0 defeat at the hands of West Brom. The versatile midfielder however decided to move on loan to Watford to continue his development after penning a new 4 year contract with Chelsea.
The 20 year old has only made just two appearances for Watford this season out of a possible seven but has proved his worth in the limited time given. Chelsea are having to endure their worst start in 17 years which leaves them two spots above relegation. This turn out of events has seen youngster Kurt Zouma replace John Terry in the Chelsea defence and Nathan Ake will be hoping to be the next youngster to break into the Chelsea first team.
