Ideal Matic Partner? Chelsea To Sign £65,000-A-Week POWERFUL DM

English premier league champions Chelsea have been linked with a shock move for Barcelona midfielder Alexander Song. Song, who is surplus to requirements at Barca will be available for a knockdown price and will come in to add depth to the Chelsea midfield and possibly replace Mikel John Obi who has been linked with a move to Qatari side Al Ain.

Song, 28 spent last season on loan at west ham where he quickly became a fan favorite but lost form at the tail end of the season after some poor personal and team performances that saw Manager Sam Allardyce get sacked. New west ham manager Slaven Bilic is reportedly not a fan of the Cameroonian and the club has consequently decided not to make his stay permanent. Meanwhile reported interest from the likes of Manchester United who have gone on to sign Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger have cooled down.

Former club Arsenal have also denied interest in Song, leaving Chelsea as favorites for the midfielder. Song will struggle to get into the current Chelsea midfield but will surely be a good back up option to have. The Cameroonian is currently injured having had surgery on his knee and will face a race to be fit for Chelsea’s league title defense if he signed. But as stated earlier the deal might depend on the transfer of Mikel to Al Ain or if youngster Ruben Loftus Cheek will be loaned out to gain experience.

Do you think Chelsea should sign Song?
