If Wenger Had Mourinho’s Recent Record, He’d Be In Huge Trouble

Former Arsenal player Paul Merson has stated his belief that if Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger was to be the one having the same results as Jose Mourinho this season, the Arsenal boss would be facing more criticism and fire from all over and might even have been sacked from the Emirates already.

The Blues have had a terrible start to their campaign this season and are currently looking for a way out of the relegation zone despite the fact that they are current defending champions of the English Premier League title.

Chelsea have lost six of their English Premier league games this season out of eleven games which is two losses more than they recorded in the whole of their title-winning campaign last season.

Mourinho has never had it worse in his whole managerial career and he has always been one to talk about everybody’s situation. He has many times called Arsene Wenger “an expert in failure” and has always called Wenger lucky and that his job is secure despite gaining nothing and doing nothing for the club.

However, Merson clearly feels that Wenger would be under more pressure if he was in Mourinho’s shoes at the moment.

The Gunners manager has come under criticism a lot of times by supporters and the media for how his Arsenal side has repeatedly underachieved.

Merson, who once played under the Frenchman said, “If it was Arsene Wenger going through this he’d be getting pelted right now.”

“He would be getting absolutely slaughtered. But Mourinho’s record buys him some time.”

“If they go out of the Champions League he’ll be under severe pressure though.”

Calls for Mourinho to be sacked have been ignored for now by Blues owner Roman Abramovich and yet the Chelsea manager is still going about talking all sorts despite being a natural at failure.

He has kept dragging Wenger’s name in the mud incessantly despite the Frenchman doing well with his team and he on the other losing woefully. The simple truth however, is that Mourinho is simply having it good at the moment and he should be more under-fire or sacked immediately and he should stop focusing on someone who is obviously doing well and get himself together quickly.
