Is John Stone Set To Join Chelsea? The Boss Gives Update On £30m Star

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has dropped some shocking comments lately about the pursuit of Everton Defender John Stones by Chelsea. The Everton boss has stated that Chelsea’s attempt to sign the 21 year old is affecting the youngster “John is one of the outstanding young talents that we have in the squad, and you’re going to get that sort of attraction and interest from the outside.”Everything been handled in a good manner. It’s a positive when you have a young talent doing well in important roles. It makes a big difference.”Every squad has good young talent. It’s a question of whether that talent have big roles in the team. As you’ve seen, young players such as Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley and John Stones have very important roles.”Throughout the season, you’re going to get that interest, but all we are focused on is Watford. John is an Everton player and there’s nothing else to comment on.”

Chelsea are reportedly preparing a third bid for the Everton player after Everton rejected their first two bids. John Stones is regarded as a long term replacement for skipper John Terry and have been linked all summer to Chelsea.  With this recent comments dropped by Roberto Martinez, Everton are definitely prepared not to let John Stones go and Chelsea are bound to face extreme difficulty in capturing the 21 year old defender.

At this point only a large money bid can force Everton hand to sell John Stones to Chelsea. John Stones is said to be worth £30 million with the possibility of that price increasing after Roberto Martinez comments. Chelsea will be better off seeking another replacement as John Stones is definitely not worth 30 million pounds or higher. One good season alone does not justify a 30 million price tag. John Stones is definitely talented but the 21 year old is not a £30 million player and Chelsea should turn their sights to another player to replace John Terry.
