Is This £78,000-A-Week Spaniard Set To Sign For Arsenal? Wenger Reveals SURPRISING NEWS

The official website of Arsenal FC have revealed that there are no talks in place concerning the renewal of Spanish left back, Nacho Monreal’s contract.

The 29-year old just has under two years to run on his current deal with the Gunners and has been linked with a return to his native Spain in recent weeks. The Spaniad started his career at Osasuna before moving to Malaga in 2011. He joined the Gunners in 2013 and after initially struggling to hold down a first team place, he finally came good in the 2014/2015 campaign after putting in consistent impressive perfomances. His superb form over the cause of the season didn’t go unnoticed as he was linked with moves elsewhere. Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger was keen to retain his services ahead of the new season therefore rejecting all offers for the Spaniard.

After displacing Kieran Gibbs from the starting spot last term, Monreal picked up from where he left off as he was included in the starting line up for the season opener at home to east London club West Ham. Unfortunately, Monreal had a game he would rather want to forget easily as the Hammers blitzed to a famous 2-0 victory. He lost all three of his attempted tackles in the game culminating in a bad day at the office.

In the press conference ahead of Arsenal’s game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, Gunners boss Wenger, revealed that there were  no talks regarding a contract renewal for the Spanish international. At 29 years already and turning 30 in February, it appears that he would not be renewing terms with the Gunners.
