Is This UCL Striker On The Way To Chelsea? Jose Mourinho Speaks Out

With the Blues’ delivering below-par performances this season, boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly lining up potential January transfer targets even though the window is not opened yet. One of those targets is Dynamo Kiev forward Andriy Yarmolenko.

It was revealed that Mourinho was present at the Spain versus Ukraine game during the international break to cast an eye on Yarmolenko with a view of making a swoop for the Dynamo number 10 in January. However, the self-proclaimed Special One has refuted those claims.

As claimed by the Mirror, Mourinho has confirmed that his Chelsea side are not in pursuit of the Dynamo Kiev attacker Yarmolenko, contrary to reports that the Blues are eyeing a January raid for the Ukraine international star.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Blues’ Champions League clash against the Ukrainian outfit on Tuesday, Mourinho dismissed the speculation linking Yarmolenko with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho said he already has wide men littered all over the place in the team, meaning there is no space for any winger to come in at the moment.

When asked on whether he had traveled to Ukraine to monitor potential new recruitments, Mourinho said: “Of course I wasn’t looking at [other] players.

“We cannot make a collection of wingers,” he added.

The reigning Premier League champions currently have Eden Hazard, Willian, Pedro and Kenedy as wingers in the first team squad at the moment. And apart from this four, Mourinho mentioned that Victor Moses – on loan at West Ham United – is still a Chelsea player.

While his parent club are struggling for form this season, Moses has gradually established himself as an integral member of Slaven Bilic’s side at Boleyn Ground.

Juan Cuadrado has also shown brilliant form at Juventus after failing to make an impact at Stamford Bridge, and it is highly unlikely that the Colombian will return to Chelsea.
