With persistent rumours surrounding an alleged transfer for Arturo Vidal from Juventus to Arsenal, it has become imperative for the players’ agent to come out with a clear the air statement on the true state of things. His recent revelations however, may not be music to the ears for Arsenal fans.
According to Italian Website Tuttomercatoweb, they claim that Fernando Felicevich addressed rumours linking his player with Arsenal and has indicated that there is no move for his client to Arsenal in the pipeline. In his words: “There was no contact between Vidal and the Arsenal.”
The rumours may have stemmed from the fact that Felicevich also represents fellow Chilean international Alexis Sanchez, something his initial silence did little to dispel.
Meanwhile, Arturo Vidal is in his native land with the Chilean national team, helping them to the final of the Copa America. Chile is hoping to win the title for the first time in their history. It is believed in some quarters that the links to Arsenal may have been a distraction for the player, which is why Felicevich is trying to lay the story to rest.
It had been initially reported by The Mail that Arsenal had agreed a deal with Juventus for the power playing midfielder while contrary reports from The Telegraph had it that the club were not interested in bringing the player to the Emirates.
