Leicester City star striker Jamie Vardy has committed his future to his current club by signing a new contract with the club.
The 29-year-old striker has signed a £70,000-a-week contract that runs until 2019.
The latest development has dashed Chelsea’s hopes of signing the in-form striker in the summer. The Blues have been linked with a move for the England international for the last couple of months.
He said after signing the deal: “I’m absolutely delighted to be fighting to achieve something special with this club, as part of this squad. I’ve never known a spirit like it – from the owners, to the manager and his staff, the players and the fans. I want to be part of it for a long time.
