John Stones To OFFICIALLY Become A Chelsea Player Next Week
Countdown to the close of this year’s summer transfer window has begun as we have just 11 days left to see the bell rang and attentions fully shifted to the pitch. However, the busiest periods, which is now, is marked by quantum of transfers as some players even hand-in requests to their clubs, forcing their way out to play for their dream clubs and managers.
As per the Sun, Chelsea’s prime centre back target John Stones, is on the verge of handing a transfer request to his Merseyside Club, Everton.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the EPL champions were offering Everton a bid for Stones that would make him the most expensive defender in England but the Toffees rejected the bid. Now, the player has appeared to want to force his way out of the club to realise his dream of playing for the four-time premier league champions.
Leighton Baines was faced with similar challenge few years ago when Manchester United and other top clubs sought his signature, but Everton adamantly refused the tempting offers and Baines has since resigned to tying his future to the club. Baines didn’t hand in a transfer but Stones is wary of Baines’s story.
John Terry is ageing and John Stones will not just be a long term replacement but might be an instant replacement for the Chelsea veteran defender. The likes of Cahill and ivanovic are also on the decline as seen by their poor show offs in Chelsea’s two previous matches.
