Jordan Ibe To Get SURPRISE Start Against FC Sion

After having handed youngsters Cameron Brannagan and Jordan Rossiter starting shirts and debuts in Liverpool’s start of the Europa League campaign against Ligue 1 side, Bordeaux, it is expected that coach Rodgers will also feature a youth side as the Reds continue their campaign in the match against F.C Sion tonight.

And with that, young winger, Jordan Ibe is set to feature for the Reds in the Thursday’s Europa game. The teenager was tipped to fill in Raheem Sterling’s shoes after the England international departed for Manchester City during Summer. Although after promotion to the first team in the beginning of the season, Ibe hasn’t been consistent in his performances at top level, but he remains one of Liverpool’s brightest prospects.

With the weekend’s Merseyside derby against Everton a big match and decider in Rodgers’ fate following a poor run in the League, key first team players will surely be rested, giving way for the reserve and youth team to have their chance. They were impressive against an experienced Bordeaux side 2 weeks ago, getting a point from the match, a game Ibe was part of.

Ibe has already appeared 5 times this season, although he missed out the last 2 games of the club. He has created 2 chances in the EPL, successfully completed 6 out of 16 attempted takeons and completed 88% passes thus far. It is hoped he impresses against the Swiss club this night in a game that will also feature the likes of Jordan Rossiter, Adam Lallana, Divock Origi, Kolo Toure, Joe Gomez and Joe Allen.
