The Sun has claimed that former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is in talks with Man Utd to take over the charge from Louis Van Gaal. According to the report, informal talks have already taken place between Mourinho and the club and he is confident of landing the job within six months.
Van Gaal’s current deal runs until the end of the next season, but recent reports have suggested that a defeat against Liverpool today could very well be the last nail in his United’s career.
The report claims that the Portuguese manager is so confident of getting the job that he already asked his trusted staff to join him at Old Trafford next season. Mourinho was also asked by Real Madrid to replace Rafa Benitez, but he turned down the offer, and the La Liga club appointed Zinedine Zidane instead.
The former Chelsea manager has won three League titles during his time with the Blues.
