Jose Mourinho Set To Axe Six Chelsea Players
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has had a lot of things to say to his club ahead of their Champions League clash with Porto. The Portuguese has warned his side that a repeat of their performance against Newcastle with Porto will see them meet defeat. The Chelsea boss could not hide his frustration at his boys as Chelsea struggled to rescue a draw at Newcastle on Saturday.
The disappointing performance on Saturday will see Mourinho shake-up his Chelsea line-up with players like Hazard , Fabregas , Ivanovic , Remy , Zouma and Matic all set to be axed from the team. Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s second match of the group stage, He said: “What has to change? The attitude of the players, because in the first half against Newcastle it was really poor.“
Six of them were walking on the pitch, six of them were looking to the opponents moving the ball and just playing comfortably in their areas. When they got the ball it was slow thinking, slow decisions — that has to change. If it doesn’t change, we will lose in Porto, for sure, because they are a better team than Newcastle.”
Brazilian duo Ramires and Wilian whose goals rescued a draw for the Blues are expected to return to the starting line-up alongside Costa whose ban does not apply to Europe. While players like Terry , Mikel , Loftus – Cheek , Rahman and Kenedy could all be in contention to feature against Porto. Mourinho also added: “Nothing changed at half-time, it turned on the changes.
Ramires and Willian changed the game, not just for their goals but their aggressive play, the pressure in midfield, the quick thinking, the running forward of Ramires, the movement of Willian.” Elsewhere, Chelse defender is bound to have a scan on his broken nose next week to decide if he can stop wearing his face mask.
