Jürgen Klopp Reveals: We Need More Wingers, Lazar Markovic Will Return in Summer

Liverpool are reportedly keen on adding more wingers to their squad in the summer with an aim to bolster their attacking line. Liverpool have only managed to score 38 goals in the Premier League and conceded 36, leaving them with a goal difference of 2 goals, which is not a good record.

Jürgen Klopp has identified Liverpool’s goal-shy squad weaknesses, and is already planning to bring in more wingers.

Up until now, Shayi Ojo, Jordan Ibe and Ryan Kent are the out-and-out wingers at the club, and Klopp is interested to call back Lazar Markovic, who has impressed since making a season-long loan move to Turkish club Fenerbahce.

Although this seems as a opportunity for Klopp to bring in several big names at the club, the Germain manager has remained determined that he won’t sign many players.

“I don’t believe in the number of transfers [Rodgers signed] but we have to make solutions – but seven really sounds a lot,” he said.

“Also maybe players will make solutions and say they do not want to be here anymore, so you have to be prepared.

“We have enough strikers – five with Roberto (Firmino) – but not too many wingers, just a few young ones with great potential. We have to decide early and at the right moment on transfers, but it is about a squad where you can play different systems and react to different situations.”
