Latest Chelsea Injury News Update

Already in the worst of shape a defending Champion can ever be, injury concerns are the least issues Chelsea want to deal with at the moment, but they have to. Thibaut Courtois is still ruled out until January, and now Chelsea have suffered yet another injury blow with Kurt Zouma picking up a knock during last weekend’s game against Stoke City.

The France international has had to opt out of the France under-23 team set to play a qualifier and has also missed out of a likely spot in the Les Bleus team after Sahko picked up an anterior ligament injury, making room for a defender to join the team in the international friendlies. No return date has been set for Zouma’s return, but it will be hoped that he returns soon so as to continue his defensive duties for the club.

Another injured player is Radamel Falcao. The Colombia international is out with a muscular injury, but reports say he is on course for a return after the 2-week long international break, and could be available for the game against Norwich City. Falcao has found the back of the net just once since he arrived at the Stamford Bridge on loan in the summer. It is believed that regular appearances could make the once-lethal striker settle into the game once again. The 29 year-old has played 11 times for the Blues across all competitions, but he has started only 2 games.

Chelsea will be hoping to resume from the break to winning ways after having headed into it with their 7th defeat of the new season and currently sit at 16th position. After having lost their last 3 League games to Stoke City, Liverpool and West Ham, Chelsea will be preventing a 4th loss when they face Norwich on November 21, and anything far from a win will further compound their woes.
