Arsenal seems to continue their tradition of recent years in signing high profile players. The last one on the list is Granit Xhaka. Being almost completely out of the title race Wenger is already thinking to strengthen his side so he can make a title challenge for next season.
After the signing of Elneny in January now Arsene Wenger wants to bolster his midfield with the signing of the Borussia Monchengladbach midfilder. Recently German outlet Blind claimed Arsenal have made a 24 million pounds offer to bring the Swiss international at the Emirates Stadium.
Having had several fitness problems with Wilshire and Ramsey and players like Arteta, Rosicky and Flamini in their last years of contract and it doesn’t seem like any of them is going to get their contract renewed.
Granit Xhaka seems the best option to fill the gap. Having been one of the most important and consistent players of the German side Arsene Wenger will be hopping that Xhaka can emulate what he has done in Germany since his move from Basel.
Wenger sees Xhaka as the perfect partner for the rising Coquelin. A player who can give more balance to Gunners in the midfield. Xhaka seems to be a player that Wenger is going to count for the title challenge.
However it seems like the 24 million pound offer that Arsenal have made doesn’t seem like to reach the evaluation that Borussia Monchengladbach have for their star player. They are holding out for 32 million pounds as other Europe elite clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Manchester City have shown interest in the player.
Arsenal however are hoping that moving before their rivals and the Swiss international desire to work under Wenger may be crucial for a deal to materialize.
