Latest Liverpool Injury Update – Sturridge, Ibe, Milner, Sakho, Henderson & Others

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has had to witness a number of injuries to some of his first team members, with Mamadou Sakho being the latest to join the Reds’ injury army.

And here is an update on the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson and James Milner.

Daniel Sturridge could make his long-anticipated return from injury when Liverpool takes on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium next weekend. The England striker has not featured for Klopp since the German’s arrival at Anfield and, there are claims Sturridge is now on the brink of a return to first-team training with Liverpool ahead of the game against his former employers, as per the Daily Mirror.

Meanwhile, James Milner – once of Manchester City too – has revealed he hopes to be fit for the game against Manuel Pellegrini’s side following the England star’s recent injury lay-off.

And there are also reports centre-back Mamadou Sakho will be out for a minimum of eight weeks after the Frenchman fell awkwardly and injured his knee in an aerial duel with Crystal Palace’s Yannick Bolasie.

Belgian striker Christian Benteke also only recently returned to action after suffering a hamstring injury, while Danny Ings and Joe Gomez have been ruled out for the rest of the season with anterior cruciate ligament injuries.

England youngster Jordan Ibe was also substituted late on during the Reds’ 2-1 loss to Palace after picking up a knock, but his injury is not thought to be serious.
