Liverpool have made contact with Chelsea over the potential signing of Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah. Salah has allegedly told Chelsea he doesn’t want to continue with Italian side Fiorentina with whom he signed an 18 month contract with just early this year.
Salah, 23 was a Liverpool target before he signed for Chelsea in January 2014. Liverpool are currently in the market for a winger to replace Raheem Sterling and have his £49m transfer fee paid by man city burning a hole in their pocket. Surely they will easily come up with the aforementioned 11m to sign the Egyptian. But Liverpool will have to go head to head with a Roberto Mancini coached Inter Milan side who lost out on the signing of loanee Xedan Shaqri and want Salah as his replacement.
Liverpool have a cordial relationship with Chelsea with current manager Brendan Rodgers a former assistant of Jose Mourinho and they’ve sold Raul Merieles to Chelsea previously. A deal will not be out of place.
