Liverpool in talks to sign amazing £59m-rated striker who’s ‘like Iniesta’

There may be only one Andreas Iniesta in football, but Liverpool are eyeing a second one, in the name of Thomas Lemar. The attacking midfielder will cost Liverpool in excess of £59m, the same price that Manchester United paid for their current top scorer, Antony Martial.

Lamar’s contact with AS Monaco expires in 2020. He can play on both the right and left wings, and he is thus a very strong force going forward.

Everyone who has played with the French international or watched him play have heaped praises on him, with Eric Di Meco saying that he is a strong runner who can take any position at the flanks or behind the main striker. On the other hand, Alaeddine Yahia says that Thomas has a left foot that is able to place the ball exactly where he wants it to, just like a hand.

At a tender age of 20, Thomas Lemar is already in the list of the players that have been nominated for the Young Player of The Year award in the French Ligue 1. He has made a total of 32 appearances for his club this season, scoring a total of 5 goals and setting up other 5 goals.

Statistically, Lamar scores or provides an assist once in every 2015 minutes. These are the credentials that have left many big clubs like Manchester city, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich interested in the Frenchman’s services.
However, the price tag may be too high for the inexperienced player. History also goes against big money transfers, with the current top players in the world like Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez and Paul Pogba having costed their clubs very little compared to what AS Monaco are asking for Thomas Lemar.
