Liverpool News Round Up – Mkhitaryan, Balotelli, Alex Song & Lucas Leiva
The Reds are arguably the busiest of the EPL clubs in this year’s summer transfer window. The Anfield outfit have signed eight players so far to add to their ranks, which may already be paying off as they have won two out two EPL matches.
It is understood that Brendan Rodger is not done yet, as he is looking to pull a string in the transfer market in a bid to adding one more player to his squad.
We take a look at gossips about Liverpool in the transfer market hitherto;
Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Brenda Rodger has been a long-term admirer of the Armenian versatile play maker during his days at Shakhtar Donetsk. Liverpool almost signed the 26-year-old midfielder in the summer of 2013 before he opted to join Borussia Dortmund. However, it is understood that Liverpool’s £15million has been accepted by Dortmund for the player.
Mario Balotelli
Just yesterday it was reported that Brendan Rodgers had inform Balotelli to find another club as he isn’t in the Boss’s plan for this season. Reports from Italy are claiming that the player has agreed personal terms with Lazio in a loan deal that will see him stay in Italy throughout this season. It is understood that the deal will be completed ONLY IF Lazio qualifies for champions league.
Lucas Leiva
Liverpool’s longest serving player is currently in talks with Turkish giant Besiktas in a deal that will see him loaned for a year. Reports are saying that the deal will be completed in a matter of hours. Lucas joined Liverpool in 2007 but has been out of favour at club.
Alex Song
Finally, there were reports this week that Rodger considered a move for the former Arsenal man but backed out after realising that the player may turn out surplus to his requirement. However, while on loan to West Ham last season, Song won 73 tackles which appears to be more than any Liverpool’s player. The sale of Lucas will give room for a central midfielder at Liverpool but Rodgers is keen on Mkhitaryan.
