Liverpool Set To Beat Bayern Munich And Arsenal To Sign Belgian

17 year old Youri Tielemans is an amazing prospect currently playing for Belgium club, Anderlecht. The young Belgian made history last year, when he became the youngest Belgian player to play in the Champions League at age 16years, 4months and 25days.

The Reds are in the market for a defensive midfielder and have reportedly sent scouts to watch the lad, but it is unclear if the Belgian will make an immediate contribution or if he will be sent out on loan first.

The Sint-Pieters born midfielder has represented Belgium in under 15, 16 and 21 level but has never a made senior international debut for Belgium and will need more experience if he is to contribute to Liverpool’s current set up.

With an injury prone Lucas Leiva and 34 year old Steven Gerrard, it wouldn’t hurt Liverpool to get a powerful back up in Tielemans, who could gain valuable match experience while he plays with more senior players.

The teenager joined his current club Anderlecht aged 5 in 2002, breaking into the first team 11 years later. Borrusia Dortmund boss, Jurgen Klopp is a known admirer of the Belgian, with the Bundesliga outfit believed to have made a bid of 4.5 million pounds turned down for the lad.

Tielemans is primarily a defensive midfielder who specializes in turning round possession in the center of the midfield. He’s capable of orchestrating play from deep with the help accurate long balls.

The Belgian is also capable of accelerating past opponent in a superb turn of pace in tight situations.

The youngster at just 17 year old has notched 9 appearances for Anderlecht this season but showed his age in the Champions League clash against Dortmund in which his team lost by 3 goals. The Belgian was hesitant with his passes and his decision making was poor at best.

Notwithstanding, he seems to have a very bright future ahead of him and with Bayern Munch, Liverpool and Dortmund all understood to be actively chasing his signature.

Liverpool however are said to have the upper hand after just making a deal for his Belgium teammate Divock  Origi. If the side from Anfield do sign the starlet, they are likely to loan him back to Anderlecht were he’s sure to start more often.

Either way, the reds won’t lose much by investing in this young talented prospect, who is rumored to cost upwards of 8 million pounds.

Currently all the signs point to the fact that he is a footballer for future, and a Liverpool will do well to turn their attentions to a more experienced midfield anchor to help them fight for titles now.

An experienced and bullish defensive midfield partnership will function better against a top team and with Liverpool just back in the Champions League; they will need all the help they can get if they ever make it beyond the second round of the competition.

Whatever way it ends up for the talented Youri Tielemans, he is guaranteed to have a bright future ahead of him.
