Liverpool Set To Complete Shock DOUBLE Swoop Worth £36m For UCL Winners

Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of completing their eighth and ninth signings of this summer transfer window in form of Spainish Asier Illaramendi and Russian Denis Cherysev. The two players have been heavily linked with a move out of Real Madrid and could be set to join the Anfield team. The duo would serve as perfect replacements for both Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling who left Anfield this summer for both LA Galaxy and Manchester City respectively.

Liverpool have had a very good start to their Premier League campaign winning two of two matches, however Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is still keen on making some key additions to the squad as he hopes to guide Liverpool back to the top 4. Both Illaramendi and Cherysev have struggled to feature for Madrid over the years with Cherysev recently joining Madrid after a loan spell at Villareal.

The pair have been assured by new Madrid boss Rafa Benitez about more playing time but it seems very unlikely with influx of players ahead of them in pecking order. The arrival of Inter Milan’s Mateo Kovacic will further make it difficult for Illaramendi to get playing time which leaves a move away from the club as the best option. However Real Madrid will only let the Spaniard go only if a decent offer is made.

Madrid coughed out 22 million pounds to sign Illaramendi in 2013 and will be looking to make minimal loss in their sale of the 25 year old. While Russian Cherysev could be available for as little as 14 million pounds.
