Liverpool Set To Move For £14m Rated Striker, Balotelli Replacement?
If you believe reports in the English media today, Liverpool are getting ready to sign Man United’s make a move for Manchester United on loan striker, Javier Hernandez by the end of the season.
Javier Hernandez who is currently on a season long loan deal champions league defending champions Real Madrid fell out of favour at Manchester United before moving to Real Madrid where is not getting any game time either. He has so far in his loan spell been used either as late sub or not played at all.
West Ham and Tottenham have been linked to the player but if newer reports are to be believed, Liverpool seems to be keener on signing the player. According to the report, Brendan Rodgers is fed up with Mario Balotelli and wants the Mexican at Anfield as a replacement for the misfiring Italian.
However, the chances of Manchester United selling the player to Liverpool is not high if one put into consideration the club’s past transfer dealings when it comes to their rivals in the EPL. And with West Ham and Tottenham, both of who can’t be said to be direct rivals to Manchester United, also interested in the player, it will not be surprising if Manchester United ends up selling the player to them instead of to Liverpool who they regard as an arch rival.
In my opinion, Javier Hernandez is a good player, unfortunately he has the likes of RVP, Rooney and Falcao to compete with hence it is understandable why United may be open to selling him. Although one would think with reports linking RVP away from the club, Louis Van Gaal would want the South American to remain in the team, but judging by the little game time he ( Hernandez ) got under Louis Van Gaal before moving to Real Madrid, it is obvious the Dutchman does not appreciate his talent.
However, should the unthinkable happen and United allow him to go to Liverpool, he will have a good chance of playing regular first team football in a club where the midfield is fashioned to work for the striker. Liverpool’s midfield will greatly benefit Hernandez’s playing style.
