Liverpool outcast, Jose Enrique has revealed that Liverpool FC players are extremely annoyed for Mamadou Sakho, after the France international failed a routine drugs test last week.
Fans of the Premier League were shocked when news broke that Mamadou Sakho had failed a drugs test, the test was conducted after the Europa League game against Manchester United, where Liverpool progressed.
Sakho has been in the form of his life since Jurgen Klopp took over from Brendan Rodgers in October 2015, the German looked to have brought the best out of the Frenchman.
The Reds are now set to be without the defender for the remainder of the season at least and possibly beyond as he was provisionally suspended for 30 days pending the full outcome of the investigation by UEFA. Disciplinary procedure against the defender has already started.
Enrique speaking on the incident said: “His absence will affect us as Sakho is a key part of our team. We are annoyed for him because he is a great player and a great friend. There was an error and he faces a penalty. Personally I think it’s nonsense, but these things happen.” He said.
The colossal defender faces up to six months ban depending on the outcome of the enquiry by Europe’s football governing body, UEFA.
