Liverpool To Complete Signing Of Defender In 48 Hours

Liverpool have been very busy in this transfer window, as the Kops are now set to complete the signing of yet another player in the next 48 hours. According to the Daily Mail, the Brendan Rodgers managed side are expected to complete the signing of Charlton Athletic starlet Joseph Gomez by Friday.

The just concluded season saw 18-year old Gomez made the breakthrough to the main team of Charlton Athletic; making 21 league appearances for his team. Gomez, who is also able to play as a right-back, has shown significant abilities to play in central defence as well—helping his team to a 12th place finish in the Championship last season.

His immense performances for his club last season has, however, not gone unnoticed as several clubs in Europe, including Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City, and Arsenal have all signified interest in signing him. However, the Kops seem to have stolen a march on other clubs as they are now set to complete his signing on Friday.

Gomez is expected to seal a move to the Anfield this Friday, according to the Mail. With James Milner, Danny Ings and Adam Bogdan already in the bag; Brendan Rodgers is set to make the youngster his latest signing as he continues in his effort to rebuild and strengthen his team towards the start of next season.

Hopefully for Rodgers, these set of signings will elevate the club next season, unlike what happened last season where most of the players brought in by the Irishman did not improve the team after the departure of Luis Suarez.
