Liverpool To Trigger Release Clause Of 32 Goals 10 Assist Jose Mourinho Target

Liverpool’s need for a top goal scorer has been well documented far and wide. They struggled for goals last season after Luis Suarez departed last summer for Barcelona and Daniel Sturridge missed two thirds of the season due to various injuries. Several names have been sounded out from all across Europe, but it finally seems as though the Reds’ search has concluded with Colombian striker Carlos Bacca, after his agent gave the Anfield club’s pursuit some encouragement by claiming that his client is interested in a move to Merseyside.

Bacca is hot property this summer as several clubs from Europe’s top table compete for his signature. The player was the top scorer in the Europa League last season and has notched 20+ goals in each of the last two seasons for Sevilla.

Liverpool are allegedly pushing hard to try and complete a £21.5 million in the coming days. Club chief executive Ian Ayre has stayed in Chile even after completing a deal for Roberto Firmino, and it is widely tipped that he is there to persuade Bacca to sign on the dotted line for the Anfield club. Manchester United have also registered their interest in the striker, who scored 28 goals last term for Sevilla, but the Reds are hopeful that they will be able to complete the signing before their rivals have the chance to make a formal bid.

And now , Bacca’s agent, Sergio Barila, has claimed that Liverpool features at the top in the list of clubs that the striker would wish to join in the summer were he to depart Sevilla, a list he allegedly wrote down himself.

Barila stated :

“We are really looking at three things – number one is to have a happy family situation for his wife and son because he had a bad experience in Belgium.”

He further added:

“The second is to find a good team with a good project. Before he went to Chile, we wrote down a list of clubs that fit that description and Liverpool was on that list.

The third question is the contract. He has a good salary in Sevilla but we know how much clubs in England can pay.”

His statements will surely act as a major encouragement to the Reds who have been targeting the Colombian hitman all summer in the hope that he can fire them again to the much coveted Champions League places.
