Liverpool To Welcome Very Versatile Defender To Anfield

Liverpool youngster Brad Smith has been training with the first-team and new manager Jurgen Klopp, after resolving contractual issues with the club, as per the Telegraph. The Australia international is highly-rated at Liverpool and has been present at the club since he was 14 years old.

Liverpool had a breakdown in contract negotiations with Smith which left him out of the squad upon its expiry in the summer. After months of contract negotiations an agreement has been reached and terms accepted and the 21-year-old has resumed his career at Anfield. Smith, who can play either left-back or left wing due to his versatility, had an unsuccessful loan spell at Swindon Town last year and has played just 31 minutes of Premier League football for Liverpool.

He trained with the first team at the Melwood training ground last week and will be hoping to put a smile on Jurgen Klopp’s face as the German tactician prepares to give him a chance to shine in the first team. Klopp’s side faced a tough task yesterday at Etihad Stadium against Manchester City, who have won all but four Premier League games this season. Even Klopp was surprised by their 4-1 win.
