Louis Van Gaal ANNOUNCES Injury Blow For Manchester United Ahead of City Clash
What has affected Manchester City negatively has turned a blessing in disguise for Manchester United as both clubs prepares to lock horns over the weekend.
The Etihad’s outfit captain Vincent Kompany is a doubt for the weekend game and Manuel Pellegrini has made bare his mind over the players situation. Despite nursing injury, Kompany featured for his country and has been unable to return to full action since then.
In trying to regain match fitness, Pelegrini played Kompany in City’s win over Sevilla in the Champions League. But he came on at injury time,.
According to reports, Pellegrini us unsure if Kompany will return for the derby match against city rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford. Kompany has been out of football for close to a month due to a calf injury.
In the press briefing preceding the derby clash, Pellegrini said:
“We have a lot of different things to think about for the next game.
“Vincent is just coming back from a long injury that kept him out for a month, and it was probably a risk to give him the responsibility to play in this important game.
“Tomorrow we will start thinking about the derby and we will see the way the players recover.”
Manchester United strikers will be looking to exploit the perceived “weak” Manchester City defence without their tough-tackling defender.
A win for Manchester United will see them go above United on the Premier League table.
