Louis Van Gaal Given GO AHEAD To Spend £73m On WORLD Class Striker

The Telegraph have reported that Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has a war chest of €100 million available to acquire a world class center forward to bolster the clubs attack and ease the burden on Wayne Rooney’s shoulders.

Manchester United are experiencing a mini striker crisis with captain Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez the only true center forwards in the first team. With the club struggling to find the back of the net this season, they have been linked with a host of big name center forwards to bolster their attack with Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani and Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller mostly linked.

The Telegraph also claim that United are set to offer Bayern £58 million for the services of their versatile attacker Thomas Muller this week and with €100 million available to the manager, the club would have no problems paying up.

However, the Bavarians are not willing to lose their talented frontman and have reportedly offered him improved terms to fend off interest from the Old Trafford club.

With little progress being made on the Thomas Muller front, Louis van Gaal has revealed that he could be open to playing giant Belgian, Maroune Fellaini upfront as a striker. The Belgium international had been employed in the number 10 role (behind the striker) previously but he would not be expected to be a long term solution to their goal drought if they aim to compete for top honours in all competitions.
