Man United In ADVANCED Talks To Sign Attacker But Liverpool Could Hijack Deal

Just days after snapping up Brazil Hot-shot, Roberto Firmino from within the reach of Manchester United, Liverpool appear to be in the mood yet again; as reports emanating from Europe indicate that the Anfield side are on the lookout for a direct replacement for want-away star winger, Raheem Sterling; and may in the coming days, reach an agreement with Benfica for the transfer of star player, Nicolas Gaitan: usurping recent efforts by long-standing admirers Manchester United, to sign the player.

United, however, having already snapped up Memphis Depay early in the transfer window, look set to act swiftly to avoid a repeat of the Firmino scenario: with reports from England stating categorically that talks between the Red Devils and Benfica, over a possible transfer for the player, have reached ‘advanced’ levels.

The 27 year-old midfielder Gaitan, having spent five years with the Portuguese side, was undeniably the club’s most creative player last term; racking up several assists and important goals during the course of the season. He however, has a mid-sized £25 million release clause in his current contract, with media outfits confirming that his employers are only willing to listen to offers in the region of £25 million, before a deal may be struck.

Should Manchester United delay in proceedings, and with arch-rivals Manchester City piling pressure on Liverpool for the sale of Sterling, Coach Brendan Rodgers may just score one more over United and wrap up a deal for the player in the coming days.
