Man United News – 2 Deals Done, Another Within 48 Hours, LVG Splashes The Cash
It has been a very busy and rather successful summer for United so far, and the trend is about to continue as the Old Trafford club have reportedly sealed deals for two goalkeepers, while another transfer is imminent.
The Red Devils have agreed a deal to bring in Jasper Cillessen from Dutch outfit Ajax Amsterdam, according to a report from Sport Witness.
Cillessen has been touted as van Gaal’s main choice to replace Real Madrid-bound David De Gea, and as per El Confidencial, a deal is almost in place to sign the Netherlands international.
However, the same source reckons Cillessen will stay at Ajax for now since De Gea is still at the club, although the 26-year old Dutchman has already said goodbye to his team mates. Only an official announcement is what we await.
Meanwhile, Italian broadsheet, Gazzetta dello Sport is also claiming Man United have agreed a three-yeat deal worth €1.8 million a year after tax with Sergio Romero.
Romero became a free agent after leaving Sampdoria at the end of last season, and with De Gea and Victor Valdes leaving Old Trafford this summer, van Gaal has been on the look out for capable replacements for the duo.
Considering the fact that the Argentina international goalie has no club, no transfer fee is expected to be paid, and as such, only a medical plus an official announcement are needed to finally seal this transfer.
In another interesting news, Barcelona wing wizard, Pedro Rodriguez is close to joining Man United and the move is expected to be done and dusted in 48 hours, according to Marca (via Sport Witness).
United are keen on Pedro and boss van Gaal is understood to be willing to trigger the Spaniard’s £22 million release clause in order to seal the deal. Having reportedly told friends he fancies a move to Old Trafford, the Red Devils should have things smooth and as a result, complete this transfer as soon as possible.
Furthermore, the 20-time Premier League champions will let Angel Di Maria leave for PSG in the next few days, according to reports. Although the two clubs are still haggling over the transfer fee, a deal is close. With the two clubs set to lock horn in a pre-season friendly in a couple of days, an agreement might have been reached before then, hopefully.
Manchester United have also submitted a ginormous offer of €100 million to Bayern Munich to secure the services of Thomas Muller. This is according to German publication, Bild who claimed the Red Devils want Muller to follow Schweinsteiger to Old Trafford, although the Bundesliga champions are unlikely to sell.
With the “Ramos to Man United” deal also reportedly drawing nearer, it’s been a crazy week for United, indeed. Really insane!
