Man United To Bid For Unsettled UCL Winner, Club Makes £195,000-A-Week Wage Offer To Lure Him To England

Manchester United are looking to pillage Bayern Munich of their prized winger Arjen Robben amid reports the Dutch attacker is “at war” with his club mate Robert Lewandowski, the Independent has claimed. They cite the Daily Mirror, who explains that United boss Louis van Gaal is monitoring the progress of his fellow countryman, after Lewandowski made it crystal clear that Robben is too selfish with the ball.

Lewandowski has notched 19 goals in 17 games for Pep Guardiola’s side so far this term and, the Polish striker has stated he prefers to play alongside Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman. And Robben has not reacted well to this and could be on the verge of leaving the Allianz Arena.

Robben, 31, enjoyed a brilliant working relationship with van Gaal while he was in charge of the Netherlands national team at the World Cup, where they reached the semi-finals. The pacey winger believes he still has much to offer at the top level for at least another three years – something he is currently lacking at Bayern.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid attacker has lost a bit of pace at the start of the season after tearing a stomach muscle, but he returned to the Dutch team on Friday with two goals against Wales in Cardiff.

Man United have lacked pace and width this term, with Juan Mata playing on the right wing and Memphis Depay enduring a difficult start to life in the Premier League. With Adnan Januzaj having been sent out on loan, Jese Lingard has been brought in into the first team and has been involved heavily, grabbing the opening goal for United as they defeated West Bromwich Albion prior to the international break.
