Man United To Lose Out As Star Flies To London For Medicals With Chelsea

Reports coming in from ESPN Brasil are claiming that exciting 19-year-old Fluminense forward Robert Kenedy is on the verge of signing for the Premier League club. The striker will reportedly pen a five year deal at Stamford Bridge , after it became clear that Chelsea had swooped in to acquire his services from a third-party to whom he had earlier been sold by Fluminense for £6.3 million.

The news was later confirmed by the player himself , who posted an emotional letter on Instagram thanking the Brazilian club for “helping him becoming a man” and labelled it as the place which propelled him to Brazil’s youth national team as well as Chelsea.

Kenedy impressed with his displays in the 2013 edition of Copa São Paulo. His effervescent performances helped him earn a call-up to Brazil’s U17 side.

That was the big breakthrough of the Brazilian’s career as it resulted in him getting some substitute appearances for Fluminense.

His performances , though not overly spectacular , were enough to provide a glimpse of his huge potential. After experiencing a turbulent 2014 where his on pitch demeanor was called into question and he was forced to apologize, he finally got his big break in early 2015 with his club mired in financial trouble. His dribbling ability , left-footed prowess and bursting runs have been compared with Zenit St Petersburg’s Hulk. His tactical awareness at such a tender age is also praiseworthy and it is widely believed that if nurtured correctly, he can go on to enjoy a successful career in the game.

Though his decision making and finishing ability leaves a lot to be desired at times , he still has time on his side to work on those traits.  With proper coaching and guidance , which is a given at Chelsea under the watchful eyes of Jose Mourinho, there is no reason why he can’t develop into the world beater some expect him to become in a few years.

Chelsea may just have unearthed a gem of a player in him.
