Man Utd cleared to sign Real Madrid star Isco after these comments from Juventus boss
Isco has been the subject of transfer rumors for a few seasons now as he struggles to get into the Real Madrid first team and has to wait for opportunities behind Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
Juventus have been mentioned as possible suitors, declaring an interest last year and rekindling that interest this season. Could Manchester United steal a deal here?
After a disappointing season that sees them in fifth place, and having never really looked like getting anywhere near Leicester and Tottenham, Manchester United are set to invest heavily in talented players and Isco is one man that has been singled out for a possible move. Calciomercato think that Jose Mourinho will make Isco the top summer target when he takes over.
It might be bittersweet for United to beat Juventus to Isco, after they lost Paul Pogba on a ridiculously cheap deal to Juventus a few years ago. Pogba has since gone on to become one of the best midfielders in Europe.
A swap deal with Juventus striker Alvaro Morata has been talked about, but Juventus do not want to see the player leave. It looks like the Juventus boss, Giuseppe Marotta, is reserved to losing Isco to United:
“Isco won’t come, we’ll discuss Morata with Real, but there are long months ahead. We’ll have to meet with Real Madrid, but at the moment they’re busy preparing for the Champions League final. We’ll talk after the final. Will he stay? 50 per cent. Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani? Our attack meets every requirement, also formed by three players who arrived last summer. We’re very happy with what they’re doing, but if someone like Morata leaves we’d evaluate things.”
