Speculation has surrounded Marouane Fellaini of late with rumors suggesting that the Belgian international may well be on his way out of Old Trafford.
The imposing midfielder has struggled to gain form and consistency this season, as Manchester United have rotated their midfield options and tried new player combinations.
The agent of Fellaini has announced that the player could be on his way to Serie A and that a move to Roma is certainly a possibility. The tall Belgian with his trademark afro was in attendance at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, adding to the rumors surrounding the player’s future. Roma won 1-0 with a hard fought victory over Napoli.
The agent, Luciano D’Onofrio, admitted that whilst Roma would be a possible destination for the player, no contact has yet been made by either club with regards to a transfer.
“He was probably there on holiday. For the moment, I have no other news. So far I’ve had no contact with Roma for him. Would that move be acceptable? Yes, Roma is a possibility to consider.”
Fellaini’s compatriot, Radja Nainggolan, was on show for Roma and he is widely expected to move on this year which will mean that Roma have a space in midfield available.
Would United fans be keen to see the back of the afro? United would certainly be glad to see the back of his £100,000-a-week wage bill, given the names that have been lined up to join United this season.
