Man Utd transfer news: verbal agreement over Renato Sanchez reached, Javier Rodriguez ready for sale

Man Utd are expected to be highly active in the summer transfer window. Jose Mourinho is supposed to take charge of the Red Devils in the summer, and he has already started identifying transfer targets ahead of his move.

Daily Star suggests that United have renewed their interest in Everton midfielder Ross Barkley. United have previously attempted to sign the England international, but their attempts were rebuffed by the Merseyside club.

However, according to the latest report, United are ready to pay up to £45 million to convince the Toffees into selling their star player. The 22-year old has been in impressive form this season and has scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 30 league appearances for his club this season.

Everton, who recently received an investment from Farhad Moshiri, are expected to resist any attempts from other clubs to sign Barkley.

Portuguese publication A Bola suggests that Man Utd have reached a verbal agreement with Benfica over the summer signing of midfielder Renato Sanches. United maintained a long-term interest in the 18-year old and the reports suggested that they attempted to sign him during January transfer window too.

Sanches has emerged as one of the brightest prospects in European football this season, and Jose Mourinho is said to be a fan of his compatriot.

According to the report, both clubs have reached an agreement over a transfer fee of £40 million for the young midfielder. However, Benfica are pushing United to include further £8 million worth performance related bonus in the deal.

Deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days and Sanches could be United’s first acquisition of the upcoming summer transfer window.

In another report, Man Utd will be able to acquire their transfer target- Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez- for £60 million in the summer. According to a report in Daily Mirror, Los Blancos are willing to offload the Colombian international for a minimum of 60m.

James, who joined Real Madrid from Monaco for a reported transfer fee of £72 million in 2014, has struggled for playing opportunities in his second season with the club and has managed only 13 league starts.

He has also attracted negative attention due to his off-field antics and the consensus is that Real Madrid wants to get rid of him in the transfer window. United will face competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea for the signing of the 24-year old star.
