Manchester United Close To Sign ‘Next Paul Scholes’

Manchester United have been obviously better than last season so far but have had to deal with a shortage of players in some departments on the field. The club has therefore had to rely on some very young players to cover up in some wings for the team and they have not done badly.

This is just to further show that young players might be the ones taking over the football scene with players like Paul Pogba valued at an obscene price and Marko Reus also going for a high price while United are also still chasing Schalke forward Leroy Sane.

According to recent reports, Manchester United have also set sights on another 18-year-old, who has been labeled as the next Paul Scholes, as they look to build a strong foundation for the future in accordance with Louis Van Gaal’s legacy building policy.

The player, Lewis Cook, is part of the Leeds United set up and is one of the best players in that age category, reports ESPN.

The midfielder is said to be on the radar of a number of premier league clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool Man Utd have also set their sights on securing the transfer of the brilliant 18-year-old and will not be wasting any time in doing this. The England U-18 international midfielder has made 13 appearances so far this season for Leeds and has established himself as a key member in the side.

Cook made 38 appearances for Leeds last season and was named Championship Apprentice of the Year at the League awards. Leeds have quickly noted all these and have just signed a new deal with the player in the summer, so the player might be going for a high price if any clubs mean business.
