Manchester United KEEN To Beat Arsenal To Signing Of Karim Benzema

Transfer in Manchester United are expected to heat up in the next couple of days as several arrivals and departures are believed to be happening soon. With Manchester United set to wrap the signing of Pedro Rodriguez in the next 48 hours, Manchester United have turned their efforts into signing French striker Benzema.

The 27 year old has been linked to a move to Arsenal all summer and could be tempted to make a move to England this transfer window. Arsenal saw their initial bid for Benzema rejected by Real Madrid but it is believed that Real Madrid will be willing to part with the French striker for 40 million pounds. Benzema who scored 22 goals for Real Madrid last season is regarded as one of the best strikers in Europe presently.

Presently Manchester United are left with just Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and James Wilson as their striking options for the forthcoming season. Definitely, Rooney is expected to be the first-choice striker going into the season but if a situation arises where Manchester United were to be without Wayne Rooney, it is highly doubtful that Hernandez or Wilson quality and experience will be enough to lead United’s frontline.

Which is why Manchester United need to sign a quality and lethal striker like Benzema. Benzema has proven himself as a lethal goal scorer at the highest level of football. The27 year old has the experience as well as talent to succeed at Manchester United, hence Ed Woodward should leave no stone unturned in his attempt to sign Karim Benzema.
