Manchester United News – £25m Rated Star Willing To Make Move

Real Madrid hope of signing Manchester United goal keeper David De Gea have received a huge boost with report the player will be willing to make a move if the Spanish giant brings an offer.

De Gea have been linked with the Spanish capital club for some weeks now with the club looking at replacing their faltering goal keeper Iker Casillas.

Casillas has had a dip in form in recent seasons and it was former Madrid coach Jose Mourinho who tried ousting the Madrid and Spain skipper as the club’s no.1 but was heavily resisted by the Player and the club’s supporter who prefers Casillas in the team.

Mourinho brought in Diego Lopez from Sevilla in January 2013 thus relegating the Madrid and Spain captain to the bench.

Mourinho will however, be sacked and replaced with Carlo Ancelloti. Ancelotti found a balance to accommodate the two goal keepers. While Diego Lopez man the sticks for the league games, Casillas was preferred in the cup games.

With Madrid doing well in the cup games winning the Copa Del Rey and the Uefa Champions league, Ancelotti seems to have had more confidence on the 33-year-old thus restoring him to his number one position and even letting Lopez to join AC Milan over the summer transfer window.

Though Madrid would bring in Keylor Navas, he is seen as a back-up to Casillas and not the man to take his position. And after a series of high profile errors from Casillas this season, Madrid seem to have had enough and have identified Manchester United youngster David De Gea as the perfect long term replacement for Iker Casillas.

De Gea will be willing to move to Real Madrid if an offer comes. He has also been tipped to replace Casillas in the Spanish national side when the veteran retires from international duties.

Iker Casillas has also been linked away from the merengues with Arsenal and Liverpool muted as suitors. It is yet to be seen if Madrid will make a move for De Gea this January or wait till the close of the season but it is clear they want to replace Casillas in goal.

Chelsea’s Petr Cech has also been mention since he has found himself playing second fiddle to Thibaut Courtios at the start of the season at Chelsea but Madrid no.1 choice remains the former Atletico Madrid man and De Gea won’t find it difficult moving to his former club’s rival.

Iker Casillas has been a constant presence in the Madrid team ever since making his senior club debut for Madrid in 1999. Casillas, a product of the Madrid youth system- La Fabrica has gone on to make more than 480 senior league appearances and 689 overall winning several awards and trophies for the club. In 2010 he was made the captain of the team after then club captain Raul Gonzalez and vice captain Guti left the club.

His form has dipped in recent years and has received boos from some sections of Madrid fans and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he calls it quit on his Madrid career.
