Manchester United On The Verge Of €41m Signing, Release Clause Triggered

Manchester United are poised to confirm the signing of Arda Turan after the club agreed to “match his release clause of €41 million. United have, according to reports, won the race to sign Turan from Atletico Madrid, despite Chelsea and PSG’s interest.

Turan confirmed (on his official twitter page) about three days ago that he is in contact with three to four clubs, and that would be making an if a “deal is made”. The 28-year old player’s agent, Ahmet Bulut, also stressed the point made by his client that a decision will be made in “the next few days.”

Several Manchester United transfer sources have also confirmed this story, with one (of the sources). Reports claiming a medical will soon be done for the player at the AON complex.

If United manage to pull of this deal, they will be getting a combative, aggressive and “technically-gifted midfield sensation, as Turan has proven over the years.

In a twist to this news, Daily Star have reported that the Turkish midfielder might be set to snub Man United in favour of Chelsea after the player himself dropped a hint.

Turan, 28, is looking for a flat in London and the above source has described it as a significant boost for Chelsea. “Chelsea have received a significant transfer boost after learning Atletico Madrid playmaker Arda Turan has been looking for a flat in London.”(Daily Star). The Atletico Madrid star discussed this plan in an interview with Turkish publication, Hurriyet.

“I am thinking about buying a house in London nothing too fancy something like a 180 square meter flat I just would like a flat in London”, Turan went further.

However, it is not really pointing to the fact that Turan has chosen Chelsea. But it’s a possibility.

Turan has won one La Liga title(2013-14), one Copa Del Rey title (2012-13), one Europa League title(2011-12) and a Super Cup title (2012) since joining Atletico Madrid in 2011 from Galatasaray.
