Manchester United OPENS TALKS For Transfer Of £280,000-A-Week ATTACKER

Talks are now intense and advancing between Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain over the transfer of Angel Di Maria, claims RMC (via Sport Witness). Di Maria has been a subject of a summer transfer move to PSG this summer, and the move seems close now.

Sport Witness further confirms that the French press are obviously excited by the scenario of Di Maria’s purported move to France and they cite L’Equipe who sounded angry with Manchester United, in its report, for asking too much money and in that process, making the deal more difficult. L’Equipe said United were being too greedy with the demand of €75 million.

The former Real Madrid winger moved to Old Trafford for a British record transfer fee of £59.7 million and has been labelled as a flop by various UK media. United do not want sell, and if they would be selling, they would not want to suffer a huge loss on the player.

However, some media outlets have opined that the deal could be done tonight or tomorrow, with L’Equipe and Le Parisien both suggesting last week that a deal was imminent.

Sport Witness reckons no matter how many times it is claimed Di Maria has an agreement with PSG on personal terms, and however many times it is stated he wants to move to PSG this summer, as RMC once again do, no fee has been agreed between both clubs yet.

A fee has to be agreed before a deal is done. Hence, the tad irritation of the French press with the never-ending stories that Di Maria has agreed to join United.

On RMC’s part, the deal could be done any time, and it is not as imminent as other media reports have asserted.

However way this happens, Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal will be aiming to conclude deals that will bring in the needed arrivals and move out the possible departures in time before the start of the new season.
