Manchester United Plan January Move For High Rated World Cup Finalist

Manchester United have an arduous task to accomplish if they are to sign Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia, with Valencia also in the running to land the Argentine ace.

As per Italian outlet II Tempo [via talkSPORT], the La Liga giants are also interested in Biglia and want him in the New Year despite United’s keen interest.

Biglia, 29, was massively linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer, even after the Mancunian Reds had brought in veteran midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and Frenchman Morgan Schneiderlin – coupled with the availability of other central midfield men in the team – but Lazio were successful in pinning Biglia down with the promise of European football, as claimed by talkSPORT.

But the Serie A side crashed out of the Champions League at the play-off stages in the summer and as a result, Valencia are paying court to Biglia. It is claimed that Chelsea and Arsenal are also interested in the Biancocelesti captain.

The central midfielder was part of the Argentina squad that lost the final of the Copa America to Chile in July, and was a mainstay in the Lazio first team last season, making 27 league appearances.

Biglia started his career at Argentino Juniors and a lack of enough first team appearances made him move on to Independiente in 2005.

He appeared in every single league game in his second season with Independiente and in 2006, Belgian giants Anderlecht came calling and Biglia had to respond.

It was at Anderlecht the Argentinian midfielder made his mark, making 312 appearances is a seven-year spell before moving to Italy to join Lazio
