Manchester United prepares massive £50m bid for Chelsea target – Mourinho flustrated

The appointment of Louis Van Gaal as the manager of Manchester United in the summer of last year was warmly welcomed by pundits and fans of Manchester United. In his first season, the Dutch tactician was bullish in the transfer market in a bid to rebuild a team. Nonetheless, he was yet active last summer when he signed several players but failed to secure a central defender.

Reports have now emerged that Van Gaal has lined up Everton John Stones as a transfer prime target but for the transfer market of next summer. Arguably the best central defensive prospect in the Premier League, John Stones drew heavy attraction from Chelsea and Manchester United but the Premier league defending Champions were thought to be in pole position after they offered three bids for the defensive stalwart.

The last bid tabled by Chelsea for the player was reportedly to the tune of £38 million but the Toffees rebuffed it. The player even handed a transfer request but he wasn’t let off the radar of the Merseyside club. However, it is believed that Everton wants his valuation increased after this season and they will be willing to allow the 21-year-old Leave. United are going to face Barcelona who recently emerged as admirers for the defensive stalwart.
