Manchester United Reach Agreement To Sign £57m Star Ahead Of January Window

Manchester United have received a welcoming boost in their chase for Felipe Anderson, with reports claiming the club and the Lazio midfielder have come to a gentleman’s agreement ahead of the next transfer window.

Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport claim Anderson was upset in the summer after Lazio president Claudio Lotito blocked his move to Manchester United after the Premier League side had submitted a £22m offer.

However, the Red Devils could lure the Brazilian ace to Old Trafford in January as there is now a verbal agreement in place between them and Anderson, who has a £57m release clause in his current deal at the Rome-based outfit.

Meanwhile, United will have to face an arduous task of signing the Selecao star as they have to contend with current French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Bavarian giants Bayern Munich for the signature of the exciting midfielder, as per the Daily Star.

Anderson has proven his class over the last week, bagging an impressive four goals to make him one of Europe’s potent goal scoring midfielders. He also scored 10 goals for Lazio last term.

Signing a player like Anderson would bode well for United boss Louis van Gaal, as it would provide him the opportunity of fielding Anthony Martial upfront, with Wayne Rooney’s performances dipping so far this season.

Now that Man United already have an agreement in place with Anderson, the twenty-time Premier League champions should make swift move to sign him in January as he would be a brilliant addition to the squad.
