According to reports by the Daily Star, Manchester United are closing in on a move for Uruguay and PSG forward, Edinson Cavani. United are believed to be in the hunt for a new striker, after the departure of loanee Radamel Falcao on loan to Chelsea; and United coach Louis van Gaal has reportedly identified Cavani as his number one target.
After weeks of sustained interest and negotiations, PSG initially indicated strong unwillingness to part with the player, and even concluded at some point, according to reports, that a deal for the player would only be actualized if a bid of around £50 million was tabled.
However, the tides seem to have changed, as reports state categorically that coach Van Gaal and his United heirarchy are preparing a mega swap-deal for the player, which PSG is expected to bend to.
United are believed to be willing to offer winger and PSG long-time target, Angel Di Maria, plus cash, in order to lure Cavani to the Old Trafford. The player, who is also wanted by Chelsea and Bayern Munich is allegedly relishing a move to Manchester, and is believed to be willing and happy to depart the French giants- should United successfully reach an agreement with his employers.
