Manchester United To ANNOUNCE £35m CB Signing Before Weekend

The Red Devils have re-ignited their interest in signing Nicolas Otamendi from Valencia after all efforts to luring Sergio Ramos from Madrid has proven abortive. This news is reported by the Catalan Newspaper in yesterday’s edition.

Giving statistics, Ottamendi is the better player amongst the two in the past two seasons, but Ramos is the more exposed and experienced in terms of his winning trophies and appearances on the biggest stages of world football.

Both players have their uniqueness but Ottamendi will be easier to buy. He has been very open about his desire to move to another Club this summer. It is understood that a pay rise above his current wage will be the major determining factor for him to change his career destination.

The player is understood to have a buyout clause of around €50 million ( £35.3m); with some cash still in their coffers after the sale of Angel Di Maria, United are expected to match this price.

The major weak link in United’s otherwise strong team is the central defense. The Red devils are said to be in search of a world class centre back to strengthen that aspect of their game that cost them many points last season.
