Manchester United To Announce Signing Of 5ft 9in Defender Today, Deal DONE

Dayot Upamecano is not a name most Man United fans would easily reckon with, as he is not one of many star players that have been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks. However, various sources in both France and England have confirmed that the Red Devils have completed the signing of the 16-year old Valeciennes central defender.

According to the Metro, the 16-year old defender is one for the future and will not be drafted into the first team yet. Upamecano, who was also a target for a host of other clubs in the EPL, including Chelsea and Arsenal, is tipped to be a bright prospect considering his huge physical frame, which makes him a perfect fit for the EPL.

Both clubs [Manchester United and Valeciennes] have agreed a fee said to be around £700,000. Though, no official announcement has been made yet by both clubs, fans of the Red Devils may not have much to worry about as the deal may not be far from being true.

According to the Star, the 16-year old has already visited the club’s training ground, with only his wages, the only reason why the deal has not yet been announced by the Red Devils.

Upamecano has already made a name for himself in France by helping his country win the Under-17 European Championship earlier this year. Though, his name my not ring a bell among fans of the Red Devils, he is certainly one to look out for in the very near future.
